May will mark the 20th year FUMC has been serving alongside the Amor en la Calle ministry! This connection has built relationships with over 350 teenagers that  sought refuge at the boys or girls ranches and provided VBS to over 6000 children and their parents. Our projects have included painting the girls dormitory, mixing concrete from scratch, constructing sidewalks, a kitchen remodel at the boys ranch, building a chicken coop, a rabbit house, repairing sidewalks, rebuilding the girls ranch gazebo, repairing the butterfly house, constructing bleachers for the soccer field, building a security wall around the girls ranch, a multitude of sewing projects and serving in the bakery. Did we mention manually mixing concrete and carrying truck loads of cinder blocks? The last seven years we have visited the juvenile prison, providing over 1200 toiletry kits and Bibles to those serving time and sharing a time of prayer and devotion. Most importantly and the foundation of this trip, we have built relationships by sharing the love of Jesus with our friends in Costa Rica. The Covid-19 Pandemic has prevented our physical trips scheduled for 2020 & 2021.  We are hopeful that a future trip later this year or in 2021 will allow us to return to Costa Rica.  We are so grateful to FUMC for the continued prayers, love and support for this ministry and our trips. We are so grateful God continues to call us to serve in Costa Rica.  For more information and ways you can help, please contact Jennifer Myrick or Lany Simmons
