Info for Parents & Volunteers

    July 28, 2021

I am so excited about the start of another school year in ministry here at Fairhope United Methodist Church! With the return of school, it also means the return of regular Sunday School classes for our kids. The last Sunday for our one-room summer Sunday School will be August 1st.

Promotion Sunday is August 8th! This is where your children will move up to their new grade level classes. Sunday School will run from 9:45-10:40am. We will have a special snack this day and can't wait to welcome your kids to their new classrooms!

NOW is the time to secure teachers! I ask that you prayerfully consider being a teacher for our children. As in the past, we’ll do all we can to make serving meaningful, joy-filled and easy. The commitment is still one Sunday a month. Click here to download “Things to Know about Teaching Children’s Sunday School”.

On the Sundays you are not teaching, I encourage you to attend a class of your own. It’s just as important for you to learn, grow and fellowship with others as it is for the children. If you don’t have a class, I’m happy to help you find one.

Below are the links to the appropriate SignUpGenius. When you’re ready to make the commitment, simply click on the link for the age group you want to teach. Since we’re in a time crunch, we’d like to have commitments made by next Friday, July 31st! Training will be provided for all first-time Sunday School teachers before your first Sunday to teach! You will be contacted regarding a day/time.

We are still securing Sunday School Coordinators for our K-4th grades and SWIFT (5th & 6th grades). These coordinators help us send weekly teacher reminders with the lesson title and scripture, set up classrooms with leader guides and supplies and help secure subs when needed. If you are interested in serving in one of these positions or have questions about teaching, please contact Michelle Graham as soon as possible at 251-377-2325.

Michelle and I join you in prayer as you discern about teaching Sunday School this school year.
