Completing the Journey...

More than 20 years ago, God began a new work through Fairhope United Methodist Church, and our congregation has faithfully said yes to God's leading every step of the way. Since 2000, these faithful and prophetic steps have included purchasing adjacent land, building the Education Annex which houses our nursery and children's classrooms, constructing the Christian Life Center, expanding parking, and renovating our pre-2000 spaces throughout the campus.

As a result, recreation ministries flourished, community outreach expanded, youth and children's ministries gained room to grow, small groups multiplied, and contemporary worship found its home in the CLC. Much of who we are today was made possible by those who perceived what God was doing and gave generously to see it through.

Those needed investments created more than $6 million in debt. Through extraordinary faithfulness over two decades, that debt has been reduced to approximately $765,000. We now have the chance to complete this journey.

Three Goals:

• Eliminate Remaining Debt: We will retire the final $765,000 in mortgage obligations, freeing thousands of dollars each month for people and programs rather than for loan payments.
• Investment in Long-Term Sustainability: We will establish a facilities endowment to fund ongoing maintenance and capital repairs, ensuring our buildings serve future generations without the burden of debt. Every dollar freed from debt service and maintenance flows directly into youth, children, worship, and the community outreach of Fairhope UMC.
• Tithe to Ministries We've Launched: 10% of every dollar given to this campaign will be given as grants to ministries that began at Fairhope UMC and now exist as independent partners. Examples include Amor en La Calle Ministry of Costa Rica, Shepherd's Place, and the Baldwin Family Village.

Questions and Answers:

Is this separate from my regular giving?

• Yes. It is essential that these gifts be over and above our regular tithes and offerings so that our ongoing ministries and missions can continue without interruption.

How long does the campaign run?

• Commitments are fulfilled over 4 tax years (that is, the 41 months from now until December 2029), allowing families to give faithfully at a level that is meaningful without undue strain on household finances.
