God Is With Us Always

He has proven that statement to be true time and time again in our lifetime. I do trust and believe that God is bigger than anything we have to face. In the midst of changing times God has brought us through unimaginable things. I came across this listing of events that some of us have experienced and have come through in the past 20 years. I share the events as a reflection of how God, in His faithfulness, has brought us through.

Events from 2000 to 2020:

2001 Anthrax, 9-11 World Trade Center and Pentagon

2002 West Nile Virus

2003 Sars

2005 Bird Flu

2006 E Coli

2008 Bad Economy

2009 Swine Flu

2010 BP Oil Spill

2012 Mayan Calendar

2013 North Korea

2014 Ebola Virus

2015 ISIS

2016 Zika Virus

2020 Coronavirus

Even as Paul struggles, he writes in

2 Corinthians 1:10 these words:

He HAS DELIVERED us from a deadly peril, and he WILL DELIVER us again. On Him we will set our hope that HE WIILL CONTINUE TO DELIVER us.

Paul’s faith and belief in God is something that continues to be a testimony for all, even in these days.

In Romans we ask ourselves, over and over, can anything separate us from God? Romans 8:28-39 (35, 37-39) answers that question for us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God is telling us one more time I HAVE BEEN with you, I WILL BE with you and CONTINUE TO BE with you in all your days. And there is NOTHING that can separate you from Me. He gives us the assurance He will be with us no matter what.

John 14:18

Jesus said, “I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you”.

Today’s prayer is from Teresa of Avila: (Shared from Dr. Ed Glaize)

Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing upset you.
Everything changes.
God alone is unchanging.
With patience all things are possible.
Whoever has God lacks nothing.
God alone is enough.

Dr. Ann Pearson

Ann graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Consumer Economics and household Equipment. She has a Masters in Science in Grief Counseling and Thanatology as well as a Doctorate in Philosophy of Pastoral Counseling and Thanatology from Breyer State University.

Her early professional career was spent working with the Tennessee Valley Authority in Knoxville, helping families of low income; working for the City of Charlotte Public Works Dept. and as a preschool teacher in Knoxville, Tennessee, Mobile and Fairhope AL. Ann has lived in Fairhope since 1986 where she immediately began serving in the youth department of Fairhope UMC. She joined the staff in 1990 as Youth Director, serving twice in this position and was also the interim Director of Children and Family Ministries for two years here! Ann had dual positions here at Fairhope UMC as Youth Director and Director of Caring Ministries which led to her becoming the full time Director of Caring Ministries in 2000. Ann loves her church family and appreciates the humble opportunity to be serving in this community. Ann has 2 children: daughter, Allison (Ryan) and son, Brad (Kate) and four granddaughters between the two! You will come to know she is passionate about University of Alabama Football, Grayton Beach and taking care of the people in this community by offering love, peace and God’s grace.
