Psalm 100

A Psalm of Thanksgiving
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

When I read Psalm 100 it reminds me that as a child this is one of the scriptures that I memorized.  This scripture brings joy and happiness in great abundance, and this joy is hard to describe.  It is giving God all the praise and shouting to the heavens throughout the world.  That kind of exuberance is exhilarating!  It calls us to want to serve and be the best we can be for God.  We need to be a witness in the world and shine our light for Him.  Thanks should be given for what God has done in our lives as we realize that we could not live in this world alone.  We are all God’s children, thankful to call Him our Father as He watches over us always.  God is good and His gentleness, mercy and compassion lives on forever.

In these challenging days, many of us have expressed how thankful and blessed we have been.  I have heard these comments stated: “I feel so blessed”, “I am grateful for the love that has been shown to me”, “We have been spared” and “It could have been so much worse.”   Thanksgiving is all around.

I invite you to embrace your own scriptures that remind you of God’s blessings and love that He has bestowed upon you throughout your life.

Prayer:

We are thankful Lord for your everlasting love.  We are blessed people and we need to tell the world of your goodness and mercy.   Help us to be more like thee.   In Christ’s Holy Name, Amen.

My love and prayers,

Ann
