Christian Believer FAQ's

FAQ's about

How is Christian Believer (CB) different from DISCIPLE ?
There are many similarities between CB and DISCIPLE:
1. CB is a long-term, covenant group study experience. CB runs 30 weeks.
2. CB involves a daily study assignment and a weekly group meeting which includes video presentations.

However, there are some notable differences between CB and DISCIPLE:
The CONTENT of Christian Believer is CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE. That is, what beliefs ALL Christians hold in common; what doctrines are essential to orthodox Christian faith. This course is not “Methodist” doctrine nor is it purely Bible study. CB is more accurately described as historical theology. Reading assignments come from church history as well as the Bible. These readings come pre-packaged in a supplemental resource book that is provided along with the student manual and is covered in the registration fee of $45.00.

Do I have to take DISCIPLE before taking Christian Believer?
You must either be a graduate of DISCIPLE I or an equivalent depth Bible Study to enroll in Christian Believer. The content of CB is quite challenging and you must have a good foundation of Bible knowledge to benefit from the material. Also, CB assumes participants are already followers of Jesus Christ and that they have a desire to strengthen their doctrinal understanding.

Is Christian Believer offered every year?
Like all group offerings, the availability of CB is contingent upon a qualified volunteer leader and a minimum (usually 6) of committed participants.

Who is qualified to lead CB?
Anyone who has graduated from DISCIPLE I is eligible to lead CB. However, it is recommended that leaders of CB will have led some level of DISCIPLE previously
